When discomfort is actually growth

Growth can feel messy before you become masterful

In this week’s Winds of Wisdom, I found myself reflecting on something I hear from entrepreneurs and coaches all the time:

“I’m just trying to get clear.”

And honestly, I think many people already are clear.

They already know the kind of work they want to do. They already know they want to help people. They already know they’ve outgrown certain ways of doing things.

But then comes the harder part.

Actually >> choosing it. <<

Actually letting themselves want more.

Letting themselves show up differently.
Letting themselves speak honestly instead of trying to fit into what feels safe or expected.

Growth is not always inspiring

I think sometimes we expect growth to feel exciting and motivating all the time.

But often, it doesn’t.

Sometimes it feels uncomfortable and messy and unsteady.

I know that because I’ve felt that way myself.

There are moments where the old version of you no longer fits, but the new version of you does not feel fully settled yet either. And that in-between space can feel incredibly vulnerable.

But I don’t think discomfort always means you’re lost.

Maybe discomfort means you’re becoming someone new

What if discomfort is not a warning sign?

What if sometimes it simply means you are growing into a new version of yourself?

Not a completely different person. You’re still you.

But perhaps a more honest version, more aligned version. A version that is no longer trying so hard to stay small or predictable.

I think many entrepreneurs spend a lot of time searching for certainty before they allow themselves to move forward.

But maybe certainty is not the first step.

Courage before Certainty

Maybe the next step is having the courage to tell yourself the truth: the truth about what you really want, the truth about what no longer fits, the truth about the life or business you are quietly hoping for.

Sometimes clarity is already there.

Final thoughts

If you’ve been feeling uncomfortable lately, maybe that does not mean you are doing something wrong.

Maybe it simply means you are changing.

And maybe the next step is not waiting until you feel completely certain.

Maybe it’s trusting yourself enough to tell the truth about what you already know.

Maybe the next level of your business doesn’t need more pressure. Maybe it needs more support. If you’re tired of feeling scattered, let’s change that. Book a call and let’s make things feel lighter again. Book a Call
