You don’t need to push through the hard parts – you need to listen to what they’re teaching you.
Before we Begin
TOMORROW is your chance to finally get out of your own da*n way.
At the OVERACHIEVERS CLUB (no cost) we will Be Bolder and Level up! We will learn and practice How to keep commitments to ourselves.
If you are not a member, sign up here. Do it now and change your plans. It’s lunch time Eastern, and it’s a holiday for many, so there are zero excuses….unless you WANT excuses (then there are no limit to them. LOL)
NOW onto today’s inspo and steps forward…
We’ve all been there: working through something that feels like wading through mud. The to-do list grows, energy drops, and you keep pushing forward because you believe you have to.
But here’s the truth – when you force yourself through the slog, you’re not just getting work done. You’re draining your energy, your joy, and your connection to purpose.
So stop.
Breathe.
Ask yourself:
- Why am I slogging through this?
- What would make this feel lighter or even joyful?
Sometimes, the answer is to drop it. Other times, you’ll recognize it’s something that truly needs to be done, but that doesn’t mean it has to be hard.
If it’s essential, make it enjoyable
Not everything in work or life will be effortless. Maybe you’re organizing your finances for investors, finishing a proposal, or managing a project that just has to get done.
But the difference between exhaustion and satisfaction often comes from how you approach it. You can make it fun. You can make it flow.
Add beauty, music, or ritual. Change your space. Reward yourself for progress. The moment you invite ease into something hard, it transforms. And remember: you already have the answers.
When you follow your vision, your energy changes. You work from inspiration instead of obligation.
The magic of listening to yourself
This past week, I noticed how many people are seeking space to listen to themselves. A friend drove to New Hampshire just to sit in silence and reconnect. Another woman stayed at a beautiful retreat and came back awakened.
If you’re in a season where you’re working 40 hours a week, raising kids, or caring for others, you might not be able to take off for a retreat – but you can find small, sacred slices of peace.
A few minutes of stillness. A walk. A deep breath.
Those slices expand. They rise -like yeast in bread- into something nourishing and whole.
The circle that became a symbol
A few months ago, I began creating something outside my office – a spiral in the yard that would become a sacred space.

At first, I didn’t know what it would look like. I just started with a few shovels of dirt. Then came the shape. Then the circle. Then the wood. The edging. The stone infill…and finally…each piece found its place. Everything I used to complete the dynamic and sacred space… from the rocks to the starfish, was already in my home – waiting for its purpose.

Now, every morning, I stretch there with my coffee and watch the dawn. It reminds me of how far I’ve come. When I first rented this home in 2012, I was terrified, fleeing with my children and unsure how I’d pay rent.
Today, I own it.
I share it with a partner who believes in me. Together, we’ve built the Beacon of Light Center – a space for healing, coaching, dancing, and growth.
That circle represents what happens when we listen deeply, follow the next right step, and allow creation to unfold with ease instead of force.
From exhaustion to expansion
If you’re tired and everything feels uphill, pause and ask:
– Do I truly have to do this?
– Is it aligned with my mission and values?
– What would make it lighter, more meaningful, or more fun?
Within the Beacon of Light Center, I’ve realized my greatest joy is helping seasoned coaches and entrepreneurs create their next best thing – without burning out.
And right now, I’m conducting research calls to better understand what people like you (coaches seeking their Next Big Thing but running into obstacles…mental or otherwise) are experiencing: the struggles, the dreams, the next big visions. Because your story will help shape what’s next for all of us.
When you listen to yourself, when you realign your work with your spirit, everything begins to flow again.
Your feelings, dreams, and struggles will help me shine bigger and allow others to do the same.
