Why small steps matter when you’re creating something big
It’s more than a chia pet.
It’s a living symbol of growth. This is the moment where vision meets action. What began as a dream is now taking form in the world. As the seasons turn, projects take shape in unexpected ways.
My home is right now the Beacon of Light Center. The spiral we’re building is more than a garden feature – it’s a symbol of growth, cycles, and community. What started as a pile of dirt….as we told our neighbor “where we are burying the bodies” (KIDDING!!) has slowly transformed into a sacred space, where each choice becomes part of the story.

Circles are powerful containers for connection and healing. I’m preparing to lead my very first women’s circle on October 4th – my birthday – which makes the moment feel especially meaningful. We’ll gather in community as Burning Women, an event where we’ll release what no longer serves us and ignite the fire of what does. We’ll be choosing transformation over perfection, guilt, shame, not enough and too much. Being Everybody’s Everything.
Listening to the earth…taking it one shovel and one step at a time.
When I considered using stone to mark the quadrants, it felt heavy and impractical. Then came a new idea: using slices of elm tree. This choice felt lighter, natural, aligned with what Mother Earth wanted. Sometimes, the best solutions are the simplest, we just need to pause and listen. And Facebook Marketplace helps, too!
The message
This spiral isn’t just about what’s in my backyard; it’s about dreaming big. And today’s message is clear:
- Honor each step of the process; progress happens gradually.
- Dream your biggest dream, one shovel of dirt at a time.
- No vision comes alive overnight – small actions build the foundation.
- Each step contributes to creating something extraordinary.
